Delete your Handpicked account
Deleting the app from your phone does not delete your account. Use the in-app control below to permanently delete the account and associated personal information.
Start deletion in the app
Choose Delete account
Open Account & Privacy, then tap Delete account.
Confirm
Review what will happen, reauthenticate if asked, and confirm permanent deletion.
What happens next
- Your profile stops being eligible for new introductions.
- Any open proposed introduction is withdrawn and pending date coordination is canceled.
- Your introduction profile, photos, private matchmaker answers, preferences, and other account content are deleted or de-identified.
- We aim to complete a verified deletion within 30 days and send confirmation to the account email.
- Encrypted backup copies may remain for up to 90 additional days before they are overwritten.
For a short period before processing begins, the app may offer a clearly labeled cancellation option. Once deletion is completed, the account cannot be recovered.
Limited information we may retain
We may keep only what is reasonably necessary for legal, accounting, fraud-prevention, or safety purposes. This can include transaction and tax records for up to seven years; safety, ban, fraud, and incident records for up to two years after account closure or longer while an issue or legal duty remains unresolved; and the minimum record needed to confirm that we honored the request. Retained information is restricted from normal matchmaking use.
If you cannot access the app
Email handpickedmatch@gmail.com from the address associated with your account with the subject “Delete my Handpicked account.” Include your first name and account email. Do not send a password, login code, payment card, or government ID by ordinary email. We may use a reasonable verification step before deleting the account.
The in-app path is the primary deletion method. Email is a backup for people who cannot sign in; it is not required when the in-app control works.
Purchases and Apple records
Handpicked uses one-time consumable purchases, not an auto-renewable subscription, at launch. Account deletion does not automatically refund a used Single Mutual Introduction and does not erase records Apple maintains under its own legal obligations. Refund requests are handled at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Want a break instead?
Pausing matching hides your profile from new matchmaking while preserving the account. Pausing is optional and is not a substitute for deletion. Choose Profile → Settings → Matching status → Pause, or continue with deletion if you want the full account removed.
