1. Adults only
You must be at least 18 years old to use Handpicked. Never create an account for a minor, include a minor in dating-profile content, seek romantic or sexual contact with a minor, or sexualize a person who may be under 18. Report suspected underage accounts immediately.
Child sexual abuse material or exploitation is strictly prohibited. We remove it, preserve and report it when required, and may notify the appropriate authorities.
2. Be authentically you
- Use your real age and recent, accurate photos of yourself.
- Do not impersonate another person or organization.
- Do not materially misrepresent your intentions, relationship status, location, work, education, or other facts a reasonable person would rely on.
- Maintain one personal account and do not share, sell, or transfer it.
- Complete verification honestly. A verified badge does not excuse later deception.
3. Respect every person and every answer
A pass, silence, changed mind, or withdrawal of consent must be respected. Do not pressure someone to accept, meet, provide contact information, drink, use drugs, share intimate content, or have sexual contact. Consent must be voluntary, specific, informed, and ongoing.
Do not harass, stalk, bully, shame, threaten, blackmail, intimidate, or repeatedly contact someone who has asked you to stop. Never encourage self-harm or violence.
4. No hate or dehumanization
Handpicked welcomes honest private preferences. We do not allow slurs, hateful stereotypes, dehumanizing statements, calls for exclusion or violence, or attacks based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, sex, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, or another protected characteristic.
5. Keep profiles appropriate
Profiles and messages may not include:
- nudity, pornography, graphic sexual content, or unwanted sexual requests;
- graphic violence, credible threats, glorification of violence, or instructions for wrongdoing;
- another person’s private information, intimate image, or likeness without permission;
- copyrighted or trademarked material you do not have the right to use;
- spam, malware, deceptive links, or attempts to manipulate the Service; or
- content primarily advertising a product, social following, event, political campaign, or outside service.
6. No scams, exploitation, or illegal activity
Do not ask members for money, gift cards, cryptocurrency, bank access, financial credentials, or investments. Do not use Handpicked for fraud, identity theft, trafficking, commercial sexual services, recruitment, drug or weapons sales, money laundering, or other illegal conduct.
7. Protect privacy
A selected profile is shared so you can consider an introduction. Do not screenshot, publish, distribute, scrape, or compile another person’s profile or communications. Do not disclose a member’s workplace, address, contact details, dating status, identity, or private communications without their permission.
Do not try to discover another person’s private matchmaker answers, accept/pass choice, report history, or complete availability.
8. These rules continue offline
Serious conduct connected to a Handpicked introduction may result in action even when it happens by text, on another platform, or in person. This includes assault, stalking, coercion, scams, threats, and other conduct that creates a credible safety risk.
9. Report and block
On a proposed match or introduction, open the ••• menu and choose Report or Block. You can also go to Profile → Settings → Safety & Support. Reports are sent to authorized reviewers and are not shown to the reported person. Blocking prevents future introductions and contact through Handpicked.
For a safety concern you cannot report in the app, contact handpickedmatch@gmail.com. Handpicked is not an emergency service. If anyone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services.
10. How we enforce these guidelines
We use human review and may use technical signals to detect spam, fraud, or prohibited content. Depending on context and severity, we may remove content; request verification; warn, limit, or pause an account; prevent future pairings; suspend or ban an account; preserve information; or report conduct when required by law.
We aim to respond promptly to reports, with urgent safety issues prioritized. We may not be able to tell you the outcome because another member’s privacy and safety also matter. Account owners can appeal at handpickedmatch@gmail.com.
